The third shelter project in Syria, "Al Yasmin village", located in Maarat Misrin area, where Human Appeal Ireland started working on recently, after the completion of Al Zohoor project, to which a thousand families were transferred.
Here, the ground is being paved and the rocks are being removed for the construction of a thousand homes, so residents of the camps and poor families can be transferred to this project.
This project is of great importance, especially that it is located in a mountainous area surrounded by a high population density and several camps that need safe and quiet housing away from the tent and its damages in summer and winter.
Construction of 250 housing units, with each block comprising four houses. A total of 1,000 houses will be built, complete with a sewage system and main drinking water network.
Each house measures 40 square meters, containing two main rooms, a kitchen with a table, a lavatory, and a foyer. A 6 square meter green area will be present in front of each shelter's entrance. The design of these shelters is intended to provide a comfortable living space for the IDPs while prioritising their privacy and dignity.
The construction of approximately 750 houses has now been completed, and the construction of the last section of Sector D has begun, which includes 250 houses, where the total number in this village reaches to 1000 houses. Water tanks and doors are now being installed for the built houses, in addition to starting plastering work.
